Thanks to TayNeezy I was able to get out of the venue and do my best Isaac Newton, reading under a tree for the rest of the afternoon and chatting with the world traveling Adam Morka, yes that guy.
Sunday brought the XC with pretty much everyone home from World travels the race was gonna be a throw down and the start the first important step to success given the limited passing on the course and the issues that lapped traffic would create from late in lap 2 forward. I was ready to improve on my start from Tremblant and got off the line in good form but once onto the flat bumpy start loop was not able to keep up the power/coordination/swagger required to hit the first climb in the lead train.
Nonetheless, The game of moving up is not new and head down I cruised along trying to grab folks as possible. Ended up following my dearest bud from AWI/NORCO camp and never matching his DH skills enough to challenge him but got up into the points by the end, finishing with most of the other elite guys in the 10-15 spot.
The elites might want to up the game a wee bit next weekend !
