 Liver and Mushrooms, everyone's favorite.
Thrown atop a bed of red cabbage, collards and spinach
add in some avocado and you are golden

It couldn't but I enjoyed the try

Why don't you go enjoy yourself while I go ice my balls and spit up blood?

So Awesome day,
Numbers and sensations improving last 2 days, back in the game after some needed weeks off.
Great Breakfast, Been Digesting and Sleeping well last few days.
AND THEN I GET HIT BY AN EXPLORER ... the Truck, not an adventurous individual.
Came away very lucky, very.
my right of way, lady i guess didn’t see me and pulled out from a stop sign/cross street . My front wheel in front of her bumper my hip into her front passenger quarter panel then up on the hood. Then brakes and I bounce forward on hood, rip the bug shield off the front of hood and onto ground.  My only issue is brused/road rash hip and misillaneous bruising and return of my awesome cut shins.
-Xrays confirmed that Femur/hip is okay ... Which was my main worry.

The Red marlin (32LB winter bike sensation) has seen better days and is stored in the local hospital at the moment, getting some sort of awesome medical attention I am sure.
My wool socks did a great job of keeping me warm for 2 hours of nakedness after 3 hours in the rain

Quote of the day:
Ambulance Attendant (paramedic) = Wow you must ride a lot you have a low HR !?
Me :  Ya its usually lower when I haven't just been hit by a car.

You're sitting there, you're wondering, "Do I have food on my face?

Great meal this past weekend with Ms. Meg

Big thing I enjoyed was roasted Potatoes with Rosemary ... give it a try

And a lovely sauce / marinade that could become more natural / paleo so easy .
Basically Fresh Ginger, Garlic, Balsamic, corn syrup blended up.

Well, you know, if the police are missing a Belgian waffle maker you could, um, give 'em a hand.

Awesome weekend so far ... some socializing and training, in Toronto, Barrie, Cwood and Singhampton ... lots of driving but worth it!

Started with a trip to Urban Athlete for some Naturopathic Intervention .. .Working on my main limiter (see SNP Post on limiters) . Get the ole digestion and sleep quality back to good, then drop the world ... yadda yadda

... wanna work on riding with people limiter but AWI won't ride with me, I assume he is sparing me from the real winter they have in Barrie. Rode with some cool kids at the Spin for Kids in Innisville.

Rejoiced in Post Jail Little Wayne

“Whether it's on someone else's song or his own, people are not tired of Wayne and the interest is still high,” he said. “There are no signs of his music, or any music he is a part of, not selling or being played in the clubs or on radio.” More LINK

Targeting Kids on Healthy food ... What a great idea ? Why didn't we think of that ?

Long bus rides and walks are broken up by constant sales pitches, oranges and many variations on fried foods are paraded up the aisles of the bus at most stop lights
Fresh squeezed Fruit in Juice and fresh bowls is amazingly cheap and great tasting.

Top of the mountain

We were lucky to be taken to 'the river' and for a 4 hour hike to a waterfall.
It was great to get out of the city and much more rural

Another bowl of sancocho was taken in at the bottom of climb

After much assurance that it was safe and Rico/delisioso ... I went for it
Apparently sucking the chickens fingers is awesome, it tasted like chicken
Thoughts of muddy chicken coops can be seen on my face

Along the way bikes seemed like a good option ... They usually are

Atop the waterfall ... Some cooling and paleo chair practice

Awesome day

No, we did not have a moment at the dinner table.

2 Great recipes today ... in addition to the new side bar daily recipe at left!

1) NellStephenson has a quick descripton of my favorite way to cook a whole chicken
Using kitchen shears, cut through the bones on either side of the spine of the chicken, then remove and discard the spine.  Flip the bird over and flatten the breastbone with the palm of your hand, until it is of equal height to the thighs and legs.  Loosen the skin on the breast and thighs; this will leave the option for you to rub your seasoning right into the flesh.
http://stephenson.typepad.com/train_with_nellie/2010/11/technique-butterflying-poultry.html

2) Got treated again by lovely Columbian Hospitality. Yestreday Johanna brought Leigh and I home and let us help/watch the creation of a CALI, columbia specialty Sancocho; a soup with plantains, Yucca, meat (we did Beef), Cilantro, potatoes, cumin for color, garlic and a mystery spice that I argue was just more cilantro.
= interesting thing we were challenged with was the whole peice of corn and whole meet (about 3inches long each) ... It was in the soup but you eat with your hands !!! not Canadian but thats the point .
Some recipes below
1) with fish
2) with chicken

Okay, Kitty Cat, this feels borderline inappropriate, and...

On route to Cali Columbia for some Dancing, through Tulcan with some crazy experiences in taxis, imitation taxis, armed border crossings, homeless shoe shine boys wanting to black polish white shoes and buses with ladies who are crazy. The last few days in Quito Ecuador have been great seeing the sights and catching up with a longtime friend who has been down for several months.
Some great meals with Plantiains and different fruit such as TAXO.
They love grains, beans and juices here. Also it seems facial rashes and insulin resistances are prevalent, I am just saying is all. The above plantains with choice meat, some token veg and rice and beans is common along with some fresh squeezed juice. The juice love is likely due to the cost of 5 cents per orange, mango or grapefruit.

So far I have gone for an easy run at 95 to 98% max hr (the altitude is 2400 to 2800m in the city)
then a telecabinet ride up to the top of a big mountain where Leigh and I took in a hike, again at max hr, to 4600m followed by a lovely instant coffee. Instant coffee is the norm it seems here despite the ongoing production of coffee in the lower regions of Ecuador.

Fabulous finger foods

Some cool sites for meal ideas paleo and/or just healthy

Just made thai curry with cauliflower rice ... Great idea like my favorite spagetti squash substitute ... Basically chop by hand or pulse in a blender or food processor and get some rice like filler for your dish!

Eminem Reteams With Dr. Dre

Back to the lab again

Way back in 2001, Eminem had strong words for anyone he thought had forgot about Dre. Now, almost ten years later, the hip-hop superstar is set to prove once again that he hasn't forgotten the man who brought him to the big leagues.

Eminem, a.k.a. Slim Shady, a.k.a. Marshall Mathers, revealed during an interview on Sirius radio that he's back in the recording studio with Dr. Dre, the NWA beatman who once served as his mentor.

'I'm in the studio right now, still working. I would just say I'm in the studio with Dre right now, I'll just say that,' Eminem told the 45 Shade radio station. 'He's in the next room. There's nothing going on right now, but pretty soon he'll play a beat and I might rap to it.'

Speculation has already begun that the rapper was there to lend a hand on Dre's long-delayed Detox album. Detox had been set for release earlier this year, until tracks leaked to the internet and the Dr. retreated to his studio to continue work on the disc, Brian Wilson style.

Dr. Dre has made clear he still hopes to have the album drop before year's end.

the jokes, the stupid laughs... that was all me.

Male EB should check this out before his next major illness ... apparently Immune Enhancing

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2010/10/28/laughter-competition.html (BELOW FROM THIS LINK)
Last Updated: Thursday, October 28, 2010 | 11:54 AM ET

Nicole Veillette of Ste-Eustache, Que. has the best laugh in the province, according to the judges at Montreal's Grand Laughing Championship.
Ten of Quebec's most mirthful residents were brought together Wednesday night to determine who has the province's best laugh.
The competition was the first of its kind to be televised, according to the championship's website. It will air on French-Canadian specialty cable channel Canal D, which broadcasts documentaries.
The competition was filmed for a documentary entitled Rire Extreme, which follows the contest's creation and development.
Competition creator, filmmaker and "laughologist" Albert Nerenberg says he came up with the idea for the competition after meeting American Doug Collins, who supposedly has the world's most contagious laugh.
Nerenberg says laughter is good for the heart and strengthens the immune system. He hopes to turn the Grand Laughing Championship into a national and eventually international event.
"We're trying to prove that laughter could be a competitive sport," he said.

Some Latin guy who knows how to Dance

So watching a House episode and House ruins A picture of Cuddy's from her trip to Ecuador. So book some tickets and time to visit my longtime friend who has been down there for 5 months! Rumors of salsa dancing lessons and avoidance of SNOW, which they don't have in California... If you hadn't heard.

Pre- flight breakfast - water, green tea + blueberries and hemp milk and nuts + liver, onions and garlic and ginger and spinach.

Training - stretching in the airport seat like mad, then solid 1 hr stretch in a empty gate entrance ( wash those hands after that!) and a bunch of walking. Miami airport is big.
Great AM wood helped my hammy check it out ( ball on butt sitting in chair and ball along ridge of it band and lateral hamstring
http://mobilitywod.blogspot.com/2010/10/episode-68-torn-hammie-fix-that-thing.html

Learning: in a CIBC the other day in markham and it turns out to be a high end bank! They pay a guy to stand and greet people, and apologize for any wait time over 2 min and then wish a good day.
- so after my 2.5 min wait I get some US money while seated in my tights in this high end branch in a nice cushioned chair. Then they tell me I am pre-approved for a fairly sizable line of credit. I say they sure are nice people but my feelings were still hurt from their rejection for the same line of credit 2 years ago
- and then I said, good day
